ENG vs IND 3rd T20I Playing XI Predictions: India hope for resurgence in Kohli’s form, changes on cards

India demolished the England team under the captaincy of Jos Buttler in the first two matches of the T20I series. India have checked almost all of the boxes, starting positively in all departments of the game. Rohit Sharma’s return to the Indian captaincy was a fruitful one, after he chose to bat first in the first T20I, which allowed the bowlers to extract a big amount of swing under the lights.

The second match had a similar story with Indian defending a tricky target of 171 runs, with their bowlers combining well to put the hosts under the pump.

With the luxury of having sealed the series, the final match of the three-game T20I series gives India a chance to experiment in the final match. It is possible that after a brilliant outing of the bowling line-up, India might bring in a couple of changes. It is possible that they give Umran Malik or Avesh Khan a game and rest Bhuvneshwar Kumar or Harshal Patel, both of whom, who have had very good outings.

In the Indian batting line-up, Rishabh Pant is expected to get another go at the top after India’s experiment turned out to be a successful one. Deepak Hooda’s drop in the second T20I felt quite harsh to the Indian fans and hopefully he will make it back to the playing XI at the cost of Dinesh Karthik or Suryakumar Yadav.

England on the other hand have had poor outings with the bat in either games, and one was to put the majority of the blame on the top order for it.

Ahead of the series, captain Jos Buttler had said that he was not afraid to lose games early in his tenure, but one has to think, if England might need a change or two, just to freshen things up.

England can hope to change their number three, Dawid Malan and give explosive opener Phil Salt a chance. Malan scored 19 off 25 balls in the last game, and it is possible that he might be rested for this game. 34-year-old Richard Gleeson replaced Tymal Mills in the playing XI and made an instant impact. In all likelihood, he will get to stay for another match, while Mills returns in place of David Willey or Chris Jordan.

India Predicted Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, , Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik/Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah
