ENG vs IND | Sachin Tendulkar reserves special praise for Jasprit Bumrah after first ODI win: Just phenomenal

Sachin Tendulkar reserved special praise for Jasprit Bumrah after his Man Of The Match performance against England in the first ODI on Tuesday.

India thrashed the hosts in the first game of the series by ten wickets and Bumrah was the chief architect of the win. The Indian pacer ran through the English lineup and ended the day with figures of six for 19 as England folded for just 110 runs. Bumrah dismissed Jason Roy, Joe Root and Liam Livingstone for ducks in the match.

The Indian pacer received a lot of praise from the fans and the cricketing world, with Tendulkar being the latest. The legendary batter took to Twitter and praised India’s pace attack for their top performance in the first game and hailed Bumrah as ‘phenomenal.’

“The Oval pitch has great bounce but the Indian bowlers bowled the right lengths & that made all the difference. A great bowling performance by India’s pace attack, especially Bumrah who was just phenomenal,” said Tendulkar.

During the match, former England captain Naseer Hussain said on commentary that Bumrah is the best all-format bowler in the world. He went on to write the same thing in his column for Sky Sports after the match.

“Bumrah would have to be the best all-format bowler in world cricket. Who would be the challengers? Maybe Trent Boult, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Jofra Archer when fit. But right now, he is the best there is,” said Hussain.

In response to his earlier tweet, Tendulkar said he had that opinion about Bumrah for quite sometime and it was good to see Hussain agree with him on-air.

“I’ve been of the opinion for a while now that Bumrah is the best bowler across formats. It was good to hear @nassercricket agree with me on-air. #ENGvIND,” said Tendulkar.

The second ODI between the two teams will take place on Thursday.
