England vs India, 1st ODI, Weather Forecast: Lack of rain and high temperatures set to suit visitors

India are set to take on Jos Buttler’s England in the ODI leg of the tour, starting Tuesday, 12 July. The three-match series should be an interesting one for both teams as they seek to test out their combinations and fitness of the players.

The first match is set to be played at the Kennington Oval, more popularly known as the Kia Oval in a day night affair. With the match set to start at 5:30 PM IST, the conditions might turn out to be drastically different in the afternoon and under the lights.

England is currently going through heat waves, with temperatures rising over 30 degrees Celsius. The conditions at the Kia Oval will be hostile for the Englishmen, who will have to battle out the heat before thinking about taking on the Indian playing XI.

Conditions will be drastically different, of course, once the lights come on, and the temperature is expected to drop down to the mid-20s.

The T20I series is evidence that the current batches of balls are swinging under the lights, and teams will be wary of that phenomenon. England in particular will look to avoid the mistakes they committed against the Indian bowling in the first two matches of the T20I series.

In short, the conditions at the Kia Oval might just be more favourable to India, than Jos Buttler’s England, who would hope not to get drubbed in back to back series.
