In an official statement, FC Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Franck Kessie on a free transfer.

FC Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Franck Kessie on a free transfer after his contract with AC Milan comes to an end.
The Ivory Coast midfielder was one of the star players in Milan over the past few seasons and played a major role in the Rossoneri’s Serie A title triumph last season.
During the 2021-22 campaign, Kessie played a total of 25 matches for AC Milan and scored six goals. He also had a pass success percentage of 88 in the league. The 25-year-old, however, decided to move on from Milan as his contract came to an end and that has allowed Barcelona to move for the Ivory Coast star.
In a statement on their official website, the Blaugrana stated that they have reached an agreement with Kessie and the player will sign a deal until 30th June 2026. It was also stated that the buy out clause for the former Milan midfielder has been set at 500 million euros.
“FC Barcelona and Franck Yannick Kessie have reached an agreement for the player to join Barça after the end of his contract with AC Milan. The player will sign a contract until 30 June 2026 and his buy out clause will be set at 500 million euros,” read the statement.
In the official statement, it was also said that Kessie will be presented as a Barcelona player on Wednesday i.e, 6th July. The signing of the Ivory Coast midfielder will take place at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper offices and the player will come out on to the Tito Vilanova training pitch wearing the first kit for the 22/23 season.
The press conference for Kessie will take place at 12 PM CEST.
The former AC Milan star will be Barcelona’s first signing of the summer window. They have been heavily linked with signing Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich as well.
