India have moved past Pakistan in the latest ICC ODI Team Rankings after their emphatic 10-wicket victory against England in the first match of the ongoing ODI series.

The Men in Blue, who were placed fourth with 105 rating points before the match against England, have moved to third position with 108 rating points, leaving Pakistan behind with 106 rating points.

New Zealand top the table with 126 rating points, while England are second with 122 rating points.

On Tuesday (July 12), England crumbled to their lowest total (110 runs) against India in ODIs, thanks to Jasprit Bumrah’s six-wicket haul. Other members of the Indian bowling attack rallied around Bumrah as Mohammed Shami took three wickets and Prasidh Krishna picked up one.

Bumrah’s 6/19 against England is now the third best ODI figures for an Indian. Before him, Stuart Binny had taken 6 for 4 against Bangladesh in 2014 and Anil Kumble had returned with 6 for 12 against West Indies in 1993.

In reply, Rohit Sharma (76*) and Shikhar Dhawan (31*) stitched an unbeaten 114-run opening partnership to hand India a 1-0 lead against England in the three-match series.

Rohit and Shikhar etched their names in the record books as they became only the fourth opening pair in ODI history to go past 5000 runs together.

They also became only the second Indian opening duo after Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly to go past 5000 runs in ODIs. Tendulkar and Ganguly, who opened the innings between 1996-2007, scored 6609 runs together.
