Samsung Galaxy M31 starts receiving Android 12 update in India

NEW DELHI: Samsung is one company that takes Android updates quite seriously. The smartphone maker makes sure that not only high-end but mid-range and budget smartphones also receive the latest OS update. The South Korean smartphone maker has now started rolling out Android 12 update for its Galaxy M31 smartphone users in India.
The Android 12 update comes with firmware version M315FXXU2CVCE and it weighs 2GB in size. The software update also brings the security patch for the month of March, 2022. Launched in 2020, Samsung Galaxy M31 received Android 11 update last year. This is the second major software update for the smartphone.
With Android 12 update, the Samsung Galaxy M31 is also getting One UI 4.1 update. With the One UI 4.0, users will get improved stock apps, Material You dynamic colour themes, lock screen widgets, dedicated quick settings toggles for switching off camera and microphone access and new widget designs. The update is also claimed to enhance the security and privacy of the devices.
Samsung Galaxy M31 specifications
Samsung Galaxy M31 comes with a 6.4-inch full HD+ display with 1080×2340 pixel resolution. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Exynos 9611 processor with Mali G72MP3 GPU.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 packs 6GB of RAM and it comes in two storage options — 6GB and 128GB. Users can further expand the storage up to 512GB by adding a microSD card.
The handset sports a quad-rear camera setup with 64MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2aperture and 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front is home to a 32MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy M31 is backed by a 6000mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
