This month, as the world is gearing up to celebrate the International Women’s Day, Esha Deol said that female roles, these days, are more progressive and are changing societal and cultural perceptions.
“Bollywood is not the same as it was during my initial days. Female leads have a gravitating pull on the narratives of the roles they play. It is changing societal and cultural perceptions and this new exciting scope for female characters motivated me to come back to the screen. In ‘Rudra: The Edge of Darkness’, my character carries a stoic charge that I have never essayed before. I am extremely grateful and charged up about this new phase of my career and looking forward to doing more such weighted roles,” she said.
Esha had made her debut as a producer recently with her short film, ‘Ek Duaa’. It received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
